Sophia-Antipolis

1ère technopole européenne, Sophia Antipolis, initiée en 1969 par le Sénateur Pierre Laffitte, est née autour d’une idée forte : la « fertilisation croisée » entre chercheurs, enseignants et industriels. Devenue une référence mondiale en matière d’innovation, elle compte 1 400 entreprises qui emploient 34 000 personnes issues de 63 nationalités différentes, qui côtoient 4500 chercheurs et 5500 étudiants.

A 20 kilomètres de l’aéroport international de Nice, le Parc de Sophia Antipolis constitue un site préservé exceptionnel de 2 400 hectares, idéalement situé entre mer et montagne. Deux tiers des 2 400 hectares de la technopole sont dédiés aux espaces verts et au jogging, marche, tennis et golf . Le parc est situé sur les communes d’Antibes, Biot, Mougins, Valbonne et Vallauris, au cœur d’une zone de 1 million d’habitants.

Le développement de Sophia Antipolis est assuré par des partenariats au sein du Syndicat mixte de Sophia Antipolis (SYMISA) et avec la Communauté d’Agglomération Sophia Antipolis, le Département des Alpes Maritimes, la Chambre de Commerce et d’Industrie Nice Cote d’Azur, la Région Provence Alpes Cote d’Azur et la commune de Mougins.

Créée en 2002, la Communauté d’Agglomérations de Sophia Antipolis (CASA) regroupe autour de la technopole 24 communes, parmi lesquelles Antibes, Vallauris, Valbonne, Villeneuve Loubet, Biot, etc. Les meilleurs spécialistes mondiaux y trouvent un cadre épanouissant, un environnement multiculturel et une qualité de vie exceptionnelle favorisant créativité et productivité.

Europe’s leading science and technology park Sophia Antipolis was founded in 1969 by Senator Pierre Laffitte, and was based on a strong concept: cross-fertilisation between researchers, professors and companies. Located 20 kilometers (12.5 miles) away from the Nice international airport, the Sophia Antipolis Park is an exceptional site spread across 2400 hectares, ideally balanced between the sea and the mountains. Sophia Antipolis’ development is taken care of via partnerships within the Syndicat Mixte [mixed association] of Sophia Antipolis (SYMISA) and with the Urban Community of Sophia Antipolis, the Département of the Alpes Maritimes, the Nice Cote d’Azur Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Provence Alpes Cote d’Azur Region and the commune of Mougins.
