Mougins est un magnifique village, dont les ruelles semblent s’enrouler comme une “coquille d’escargot”. Situé à l’intérieur des terres, à proximité de Cannes, ce typique village provençal, respire le romanticisme et la tranquillité. Histoire de Mougins

A l’époque des Romains, Mougins jouit déjà, d’une certaine importance due à sa proximité avec la voie “Aurélia”.

Vers le XVIII siècle, cette zone profite d’une bonne économie et au XIX siècle, grâce à sa voisine la ville de Grasse, (capitale des parfums) Mougins devient un des centres les plus riches de la région.

Par la suite, les cultures florales sont quasiment toutes oubliées, laissant la place à d’immenses parcs de demeures historiques destinées à accueillir la “Jet-Set” provenant de Cannes.

C’est vers les années 50, que se développe un intérêt plus touristique, artistique et gastronomique.

Hotel de luxe et haute gastronomie

Un renommé chef cuisinier Roger Vergé, fonde en 1969 “ le Moulin de Mougins”, un des sept restaurant présent à l’époque.

De nos jours, nous pouvons en compter plus d’une cinquantaine qui rivalisent de qualité, proposant une cuisine gastronomique, de haut niveau.

Le visiteur n’a que l’embarras du choix pour sélectionner un restaurant pour un dîner romantique à la lueur d’une bougie, ou un Hôtel plein de charme avec: parc, jardin, piscine et services exclusives, où le professionnalisme, est la principale caractéristique que l’on trouve dans ce lieu.

Mougins

Mougins is a beautiful village, with tiny, winding roads that seem to roll up like a “snail’s shell”. Situated in the most spectacular countryside, close to Cannes, this typical Provencal village is the epitome of peaceful tranquility where a romantic sojourn is guaranteed. History of Mougins

During Roman times Mougins had already achieved status and strategic importance, due to its proximity to the Aurelia road. Around the 18^th century this region benefited from a prospering economy and in the 19^th century, thanks to its neighbor, the town of Grasse (world capital for perfume); Mougins became one of the richest centers in the region. In the ensuing years the flower tradition was almost completely forgotten, leaving in its place immense of historical homes with lush gardens and parks destined to welcome the jet-set visiting Cannes. It was around the 1950s that a more structured approach to tourism was undertaken with the village’s artistic and gourmet cuisine interest developed.

Luxury Hotels and gastronomy

In 1969 the famous chef, Roger Vergé, founded “le Moulin de Mougins”, one of only seven restaurants in the town at the time. Nowadays there are more than fifty gourmet restaurants, proposing a wide variety of delectable, gastronomic cuisine.

Visitors’ only dilemma is to make the difficult choice between them. Many moods and palettes are offered: you can select a restaurant for a romantic candlelit dinner, or a charming hotel restaurant complete with parks, gardens, pool and exclusive services. Professionalism and quality are the common denominators for all these highly respected establishments.

Highlights

The art galleries and studios: Some of the most well-known artists in the world, including Pablo Picasso himself, passed through Mougins to seek inspiration for their work. Art lovers will be in their element here, as the village has more than thirty art workshops and galleries.

The Valmasque Forest: Learn about the local flora and fauna and discover the peace and serenity of this 400-hectare national park by taking a walk along the nature trails that meander through the forest. For the most motivated of visitors, this beautiful area has mountain biking trails, fitness trails and walking circuits to discover.

Storia di Mougins

Già in epoca romana, Mougins godeva di una certa importanza, dovuta alla vicinanza dell’antica via Aurelia. Verso il XVIII secolo, questa zona godeva di una buona economia, ed è nel secolo XIX, che la vicinanza a Grasse, capitale dei profumi, fece di Mougins, uno dei centri più ricchi della regione.

Oggi le colture floreali sono quasi del tutto svanite, lasciando posto ad enormi parchi di dimore storiche, destinate ad accogliere il jet set internazionale proveniente dalla vicina Cannes. È verso gli anni 50, che si viene a creare un particolare interesse turistico, artistico e gastronomico.

Мужен

Город Мужен расположен в департаменте Приморские Альпы в регионе Прованс - Альпы - Лазурный берег. Город расположился между Каннами и Грассом по дороге Наполеона. В настоящее время дорога Наполеона носит название национальная дорога 85. От Мужен до моря - 7 км, а также такое же расстояние от Мужен до Канн.

Мужен представляет собой типичный провансальский средневековый городок с центральной шумной площадью, с узкими и старинными улочками. Город находится рядом с центром всех развлечений, однако не в его эпицентре.

В городе растут сосны, маслины, кипарисы. С высоты 260 метров открывается панорамный вид на Каннский залив, Леринские острова, Грасс. С высоты птичьего полета Мужен напоминает морскую раковину: витиеватые улочки берут начало в центре и расходятся по окраинам. История города начинается в XI веке. Мужен являлся владением графов Антибских. С XX века Антиб начинает развиваться как туристический центр.

Пабло Пикассо (Pablo Picasso) вместе со своей женой Жаклин провели в Мужен последние 12 лет жизни. Мужен посещали такие личности как Жан Кокто (Jean Cocteau), Поль Элюар (Paul Eluard), Ман Рэй (Man Ray), Фернан Леже (Fernard Léger), Робер Деснос (Robert Desnos), Айседора Дункан (Isadorra Duncan). Ив Сен-Лоран (Yves Saint Laurent), Катрин Денев (Catherine Deneuve), Жак Брель (Jacques Brel), Эдит Пиаф ( Édith Piaf), Кристиан Диор (Christian Dior), Франсис Пикаиба (Francisco Picabia). Церкви Мужен

Церковь Нотр-Дам-де-Ви (Chapelle Notre-Dame-de-Vie)

Эта часовня, построенная в 16 веке, была реконструирована в 17 веке. Будучи известным историческим монументом, к часовне проявляется большой интерес не только со стороны архитекторов, но и археологов. Часовня собрала в себе все элементы провансальского стиля 17 века. Нежные и умеренные линии строения, а также внешняя отделка напоминают тосканские пейзажи.

Церковь Святого Иакова Великого (Église St-Jacques-le-Majeur)

Церковь была построена в 17 веке на месте античного храма Дианы. Серый камень. Три арки. Интерьер церкви отличается скромностью.

Кулинарное искусство Мужен

Кулинарное искусство МуженМужен славится высоким уровнем кулинарного искусства. В городке находится около 50 ресторанов. Такой высокий уровень кулинарного искусства обусловил тот факт, что в Мужен проводится фестиваль «Звезды Мужена» (Les étoiles de Mougins), на котором награждают отличившихся поваров, а также проводят мастер-классы для желающих.
