Valescure Golf Club
An 18 holes par 68 course of 5005 metres (5473 yards), designed by Lord Ashcomb and opened in 1895, is the oldest golf course in 'le Var' and the 5th oldest in France.
The fact that the course is very short, with a number of short holes, can be somewhat misleading, as the fairways are narrow and are either well guarded with pine trees or there is pretty thick rough to deal with, should your ball stray! The greens tend to be small and there is are a number of water hazards spread around the course.
Other golf courses that one could consider including in their French Riviera golfing holiday are: l'Esterel Latitudes, Riviera Golf Club, Cannes-Mandelieu, Roquebrune, Sainte Maxime, Saint Endroel, Beauvallon, Cannes-Mougins, Grande Bastide and Opio Valbonne.
