Royal Mougins Golf Club
This stunning par 71, 18 holes golf course, which measures at 6004 metres (6566 yards) off the championship tees was created by the late Robert von Hagge, a well known American architect and opened its doors in 1993. The golf course is situated in Mougins, which is roughly 10 to 12 minutes from the world renown city of Cannes (famous for the Cannes Fim Festival) and within easy striking distance from Nice airport.
Created in limited space, Royal Mougins Golf Club is a very tight golf course and along with the hilly sloping terrain often causing the unpredictable bounce of the ball, all means playing a round of golf here with a lot of thought. With numerous water hazards and bunkers strategically placed around the golf course, it may be wise in some cases, for the big hitters to use a 3-wood or iron off the tee and play it straight to ensure staying on the fairways. 'Course management' as they say!
A private course, regarded as one of the finest in the world and as such, is on the most prestigeous list. With its driving range and beautifully refurbished clubhouse, it really is a French Riviera golf course worth visiting!
As Royal Mougins is a private golf course, it is reserved firstly for its members and their guests.
