Opio Valbonne Golf Club
Nicely placed between Cannes and Nice means Opio-Valbonne is easily reachable from these two cities.
Orginally designed by Donald Harredine in 1966, Golf d'Opio-Valbonne, one of the oldest French Riviera Golf courses, set on 220 hectares, was redesigned in 2002 by Robert Berthet.
At 5738 metres (6275 yards) from the back tees, this par 73, 18 holes golf course is not long. Neither is it overly tough, but it is an incredibly enjoyable course to play and experience the scenery. There are some fairly ordinary holes contrasted by some slightly testing ones. Bunkers on the front nine are few and set back from the greens, but on the back nine become more prominent. Accuracy from the tee is needed on some holes, which are heavily tree lined. So any sprayed shots will be punished! Playing Opio-Valbonne could be ideal as your 'intro round' to get you warmed up for the other rounds of golf ahead, or as a 'midway' breather, or even as your final round of a 'gruelling' French Riviera golfing holiday. Whichever way you choose…, don't underestimate this gem!
With a hotel on-site, this could be your ideal base for all the rounds of golf you choose, as well as anything and everything else you wish to do while on your French Riviera golfing holiday!
