Old Course Cannes-Mandelieu
Golf Club Cannes-Mandelieu, a par 71, 18 hole golf course of 5745 metres (6283 yards), also known as the 'Old Course', came into being in the late 1800's and was later redesigned by Harry Colt, which is evident by the shape and length of some of the bunkers.
A characteristic and principal hazard of this golf course, is the numerous parasol pine trees which make their presence felt by their size. As a result, some of the fairways are pretty narrow and tight. From many tee boxes, finding the right position on the fairways becomes important, as does club selection. Being able to draw or fade the ball can certainly be advantageous.
At 5745 metres, Golf Club Cannes-Mandelieu is not the longest by any means, but is a lovely golf course to play, with a fair degree of challenge involved. Well worth a 'crack'!
