Port of Nice

Port Lympia

Nice’s Port Lympia, with its beautiful Venetian-coloured buildings, is often overlooked, but a stroll along its quays is lovely, as is the walk to get here: come down through Parc du Château or follow quai Rauba Capeu, where a massive war memorial hewn from the rock commemorates the 4000 Niçois who died in both world wars.

Cours Saleya

The Cours Saleya is one of the liveliest areas of Old-Nice where the flower, fruit and vegetable markets take place.

Promenade des Anglais

The most famous stretch of seafront in Nice is this vast paved promenade, which gets its name from the English ex-pat patrons who paid for it in 1822.

Colline du Château

Château de Nice

Castle Hill, or Colline du Château as it's called in French, is more "hill" than "castle." Most of it has crumbled away, but travelers and travel experts alike recommend climbing the nearly 300 feet of stairs to the top of the hill for the sweeping panorama of Nice and the Baie des Anges (Bay of Angels).
